Viral Telegram tap-to-earn game Hamster Kombat unveiled its roadmap for the remainder of the year and into 2025. The announcement came in time for the launch of its token, HMSTR, due on September 26.
It turned heads as the viral clicker game looks to expand its offerings with a Web3 gaming platform.
Hamster Kombat Reveals 2024-2025 Roadmap
With available technology, experience, industry developers, and players, Hamster Kombat aims to create a Web3 gaming platform. Based on the roadmap, it will feature external payment systems, launch new games, and integrate NFT as in-game assets on the platform before year-end.
It also plans a dedicated advertising network to serve its games, which are set for release in December. Revenue from the ad network will go toward buying back tokens and distributing them as rewards.

As the clicker game launches its HMSTR token in an airdrop on September 26, only 43% of its total users (131 million out of 300 million) will receive the tokens. A portion (11.25%) of the tokens issued during season one of the airdrop will be locked for 10 months, creating scarcity and potentially seeing HMSTR token prices appreciate.
The tap-to-earn game also committed to value beyond profits after the airdrop, a strategy meant to retain engagement. Specifically, it will onboard more players, leveraging a unique mix of Web2 and Web3 properties to create engaging content.
Amid anxiety and anticipation for the HMSTR airdrop, The Open Network anticipates heightened load on TON blockchain.
“We would like to notify you that from the 26th of September 10:00 UTC we are expecting an increased load on the TON blockchain. This is as the Hamster Kombat game project with more than 100 million monthly active users will be minting coins on the blockchain. This is a unique and first event of this scale for the blockchain industry,” the network said in a statement to validators.

It remains to be seen how the airdrop will fair. Some players remain outraged after the network labeled them ‘cheaters’ for collecting keys in the first season of its in-game rewards, which ended on September 20. The distress comes after investing significant time and effort in the game, only to have your keys deemed irrelevant.
